Replacing My Kindle

.Dear Computer Lady,

I am going to have to replace my Amazon Kindle soon, and I was wondering how I get my books off, so I can put them on my new one.

Can you help?

Thanks, Pat

Dear Pat,

Actually, you don’t have to get your books off your old Kindle in order to get them on your new one.

All you have to do is connect your new Kindle to your Amazon account, and all the books you have purchased will be available for you to download to your new device.

Any Kindle book that you purchase through Amazon is always available from your account. You can download them to a new Kindle, or your computer, or your phone or tablet. Amazon has apps available for almost every device. Just go to the Amazon website, click the drop-down list for “Shop by Department”, point to “Kindle e-readers and books” and click on “Kindle Reading Apps”.
