How To Stop Pop Ups

.Dear Computer Lady,

How do i stop pop ups?

John

Dear John,

Unwanted pop-ups today almost always come from malware on your computer.

The best way to get rid of the malware and thus get rid of the pop-ups is to keep your antivirus and antimalware software on your computer up to date.

I recommend a combination of AVG Internet Security and Malwarebytes Anti Malware. These two programs together will keep your computer running smoothly and block incoming malware.

If your computer is infected with too many malware programs, it might need a good cleaning out at your local computer repair shop first.

You can find safe links to both AVG and Malwarebytes on my website at www.asktcl.com

au contraire… most pop ups come from pathetic ads on web pages. Download a pop up blocker appropriate for the browser that you use. If you still have pop ups, then, and only then, should you consider malware as the problem and then use the solution that Elizabeth has mentioned.
