Why Do I have Green Check Marks?

.Dear Computer Lady,

I love your site,. THANKS

All of a sudden my desktop shows green check-marks on all sites I have there.

Did I do something wrong, or, do you have an answer why this is happening.

Dear Margaret,

You have not done anything wrong, in fact you are keeping your computer safe from malicious websites.

It sounds like you have installed some sort of security software that uses the green check marks to let you know that a web site is safe to visit.

I know that some versions of the security software that I use, AVG includes that feature.
